The functions of the O2500 card,

• Provide 1×STM-16 optical interface.

• Perform O/E & E/O conversion and clock extraction & integration.

• Possess transmitting & receiving optical power detection and laser bias current detection function.

• Support laser automatic shutdown function.

• Perform 16:1/1:16 multiplex/demultiplex processing.

• Support continuous concatenations of VC-4-16c and VC-4-4c.

• Support N1 byte processing and TCM mode.

• Provide monitor function for higher order path overhead (J1, B3, C2 and G1).

• Monitor main alarms of section layer and report the result to XCU card as switching criteria for MS protection.

• Implement pointer interpretation and justification in aggregate drop direction, and report the state of each AU-4 signal to XCU card as switching criteria for path protection.

• Support seamless switching between working and protection XCU cards.

• Support line loop back and equipment loop back.

• Support receiving and transmitting optical power report.

• Support remote on-line upgrading of FPGA and BCT software.

• STM-16 optical interface supports several modes including I-16, S-16.2, L-16.2, L-16.3, U-16.2 and V-16.2 by changing optical module.
